Hello I’m Siobhan,
Welcome to Studio Homestead…
I began my journey into the world of colour at art college in Belfast, where I honed my skills in silkscreen printing homewares. This led me to an interiors internship in London for an independent designer. Having grown up on a rural peninsula in Ireland, the bustling city life didn’t feel right for me. So when I moved to Edinburgh with my partner, it felt like coming home, with the rolling hills and the beaches of East Lothian on my doorstep.
I worked for a decade as Showroom Manager for Farrow & Ball in Edinburgh, across many styles of homes and interiors. Immersed in their renowned collection, I became fluent in their colours, and later promoted to Colour Consultant for Scotland which saw me working all over the country through virtual appointments. As my young family grew, In 2022 I launched my own consultancy - Studio Homestead - to continue doing the job I love most, while still being present for my three girls.
Clients often feel overwhelmed choosing colour for their homes. It’s understandable as the multitude of shades, and finishes can be bamboozling.
It’s safe to say that I know the Farrow and Ball collection inside out and in recent years I've enjoyed expanding my palette further, working with other fantastic brands Little Greene, Paint and Paper Library and Atelier Ellis, offering colour consults in person and virtually online.

Drawing from my background in print design, I understand the intricate interplay between colour and surface and how even small pops of colour; on floorboards, staircases, or furniture provide opportunities to inject interest. That’s why, when I work with clients I don’t just consider colour on the walls, I also explore complementary finishes and details that will help bring that scheme to life.
Through sharing small glimpses into my own home on instagram, I’ve gained an unexpected reputation for my expertise in choosing elegant neutrals, but above all my signature is in creating homes that feel light, humble and characterful through skillful use of colour accents and threads.
